Church Leaders
Pastor Gerald L. Rice is the senior pastor of Judah Christian Community. His life has been unusual in some ways and has taken him
on a course that’s been filled with unusual opportunities that he believes have all helped to prepare him for his current calling as Senior Pastor of Judah Christian Community. He accepted God’s call to ministry over 20 years ago and has never looked back.
Pastor Rice is a gifted teacher and preacher who has had the opportunity to preach in places such as England, the Czech Republic, Hawaii, and the Ukraine. He has developed and taught for several years now, a detailed 12 week course designed to help prepare and equip those who feel they have been called to teach or preach. He also, along with his wife Eileen Rice, has developed and teaches an 8-12 week marriage class he has entitled “Happily Ever After”. The testimonies that have come in from the couples who have participated in the class have been both heartfelt and inspiring. Judah Christian Community is a multicultural, multiracial church, based in Columbus, Ohio. This church was “birthed” by God through the merging of two seemingly different churches, Judah Christian Ministries, a predominantly African American church, and Christian Community Church, a predominantly Caucasian church.
Pastor Wm. Douglas Duble has been a member of Judah Christian Community, formerly Christian Community Church East, since it’s beginning in 1981 and he has been a pastor since 2003. Before becoming a pastor, Doug and his wife, Kathy and their two sons David and Daniel, served as missionaries in Kenya (East Africa) and Saratov (Russia). Their work in Kenya included teaching at a Bible School and leading and teaching in worship seminars and conferences. In 1995 Pastor Doug led a short term mission team made up of Kenyans and Americans to Saratov, Russia, where they conducted evangelistic crusades and started a church. After 1 year, the Duble family relocated to Saratov to pastor and continue the work in the newly established church. In 1998 the family returned to the United States where Doug resumed his former position as a salesman.
In February 2003, Doug was ordained the Senior Pastor of Christian Community Church East. He led the church (a predominately white church) to successfully merge with Judah Christian Ministries (a predominately black church). Pastor Doug now serves as the Worship Pastor and the Pastor of Life Groups at the newly-formed, Judah Christian Community.
Pastor Doug has a B.S. in Education from Baylor University and an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies from The International School of Ministry & Vision University. He has also graduated from The Perspectives Class on Missions. He has a tremendous passion for global missions, worship and evangelism. He also enjoys swimming and long distance bike riding. His wife, Kathy, is a school teacher at Madison Christian School. Their sons are 22 and 25 years old.
